PLANNING YOUR VISIT
WHAT TO WEAR
The flower farm is a working agricultural space, beautifully alive with pollinators and uneven ground. We encourage footwear for walking on gravel and grass and advise the use of sun protection and bug repellent as needed.
WHAT TO BRING
We provide flower clippers and metal flower buckets to place your cut flowers into while on the flower farm. You are welcome to bring your own vase or empty bucket to take your flowers home in. We also have a wide assortment of vases for purchase and offer a $2.00 to-go bucket to take your flowers home in.
ALL flowers must be transported in water for their longevity and quality.
PARKING
When you arrive you will see purple flags in the grass. Please park facing the flags at a 90° angle.
CHECKING IN
Upon arrival, you’ll check in at our main shed, where our friendly staff will provide you with cutting instructions, flower clippers, and a metal flower bucket. We kindly ask that everyone signs a release of liability waiver to ensure a safe experience for everyone as this is a working farm and sharp flower clippers are used. Young people under the age of 12 are not given flower clippers and need to be accompanied by an adult. Each person or group is required to purchase a bucket for entry into the flower farm.
PICKING FLOWERS (the best part)
The You-Pick area of the Flower Farm is identified by flags leading to the entrance that includes over 250 varieties of flowers on 1.5 acres. Flowers for cutting are inside the double doors only. You may cut from the 23 beds/rows, along the North and South fences, around the small gray shed, and our sunflowers. We kindly ask that you pick flowers from the designated flower farm and not the residential landscaping, not the area designated for custom grown wedding flowers, and not the vegetable garden. THANK YOU!
ARRANGING FLOWERS (second best part)
We enjoy sharing our floral design studio space with everyone! Along with vases available for purchase, we have large tables where you can arrange your flowers so your completed bouquet is ready to take home. You are welcome to bring your own vase or purchase one here and leave the mess with us. If you are interested in hosting an event or gathering at the flower farm, please reach out as we can accommodate group visits.
CHECKING OUT
You will return your flower clippers and metal floral bucket to one of our team members who will assist in either transferring your freshly cut flowers to a transport containers, or, will direct you to an open space in our design studio where you can arrange your bouquet. We offer a wide selection of vases for purchase as well as a $2.00 to-go transport bucket, or, you are welcome to bring your own vase or bucket. Please note, ALL flowers must to be transported in water for their longevity and quality. Fresh cut flowers have not been conditioned the way commercially store bought flowers have and require water immediately following harvest.
Payment Options: We accept cash and major credit cards.
ADA ACCESSIBILITY
Our Flower Farm is open and welcoming to guests of all ages and abilities. The flower farm is primarily grass walkways and therefore does include some uneven areas. Guests who use wheelchairs or other mobility devices are encouraged to notify us at least one day prior to their visit. This allows us to arrange for you to drive up a small hill into the flower farm, increasing your comfort and helping you fully enjoy the space. Please note, as an agricultural business ADA restrooms are not available.
For people wishing to use strollers or wagons, we recommend ones with larger wheels for the most comfortable experience while exploring the Flower Farm.
PETS
Service animals are obviously welcome! However, out of respect for the safety and comfort of all our guests, we kindly ask that only service animals be brought onto the property. Pets remaining in vehicles is not advised due to summer temperatures in Iowa. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.
